The essence of Yoga is about a very simple thing ... balance.

Yoga is not just a stretch class.

Yoga is a holistic practise that involves dynamic and static postures (called asanas), breathwork and meditation. Its aim is for you to achieve your full potential

Yoga is not a religion.

It is a healthy way of living that promotes fitness of the body and the mind through gentle exercise, by regulating diet, and by calming the mind and focusing the mind through meditation and relaxation.

It is not essential to be young and supple to practice Yoga. All that is required is a desire to find balance.

Classes available:

  • Dynamic — A class to stretch, breathe and energise.
  • General — A general flowing class, suitable for most students.
  • Gentle Stretch — A gentle stretch and flowing asana practice, suitable for the beginner and those new to yoga. This class is also suitable for pregnant women.
  • Strong — For those with experience and who like a stronger class. Not suitable for beginners.
  • Men’s — A class for men only, involving stretching and relaxation.
  • Yin and Yang — A class that begins with a dynamic yang style yoga and ends with deep long held stretches  to produce a yin practice.

Private tuition is also available for individual support — in Roseville or Lindfield.

Stretch Therapy

What is stretch therapy?

Stretch Therapy differs from yoga. Yoga includes asanas (physical postures), pranayama (breathing practises) and meditation, and when practised in its fullest form includes cleansing practises and codes of conduct (yamas and niyamas). Stretch Therapy does have a link to yoga postures but it is also blended with a modern understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as the knowledge acquired by Kit Laughlin over the past 25 years through his treatment of many thousands of clients.

Stretch Therapy is a one-on-one consultation that is very useful in a range of applications from rehabilitation of common physical problems like neck, upper and lower back pain, and shoulder, arm and hand problems, through to athletic performance enhancement.

The aim is to create relaxation and flexibility in the body. Conditions such as lower back pain, sciatica, neck pain, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, tension headache, as well as pain in the hip, buttocks, calf, hamstrings, forearms, between the shoulder blades, and in the joints, can all be treated safely and effectively with correct stretching methods.

What occurs when we stretch?

Stretching literally pulls tension out of muscles. When muscles are loosened and relaxed, free movement results and pain often naturally subsides. When in severe pain from of a cramped muscle, our natural reaction is to stretch this pain away. Dull aches, stiffness and soreness are often due to low-level tension in the muscles. Stretching is the best method to relieve this discomfort. It also realigns muscle fibres, releasing knots and massaging scar tissue. Stretching also increases circulation in the muscles and body, leading to the removal of pain-producing toxins such as lactic acid.
